Gerry Wade had proved himself to be a champion sleeper; so the other house guests decided to play a practical joke on him. Eight alarm clocks were set to go off, one after the other, starting at 6.30 a.m. But when morning arrived, one clock was missing and the prank had backfired with tragic consequences.

Some rather hysterical responses. Listeners, remember Archive is free! Archive did not produce this audiobook, did not select the narrator. The score is for the reader. Sorry, but her voices drive me crazy. Went to the end of the book to get it over. I'm not listening to anything else read by her.
I thought that John Moffett was horrible. She's even worst than him.
Please have either Hugh Fraser or David Shuchet read Agatha Christie.
Emilia Fox and John Moffett sound affected, and ruin the books. Can't even tell one character from another. Also, Emilia's women sound like a bunch of retards.
The protagonists are all young people, and the voices are read as such.
Basically infantile rich kids, (in their twenties(?) with servants). Their naivety comes across in the their reactions and the dialogue.
I didn't mind the reading, but she has some trouble with male voices, maybe trying sometimes too hard to do deep voices of older men.
I like Hugh Fraser, but after listening to a few in a row I find his "exotic woman" and "Scotland Yard man" quite often sound practically Identical.
This reading has a faster pace than seems typical for the Christie novels i have heard read.

Great recording - Emilia Fox and Hugh Fraser are so well suited to Agatha Christie!
This is such a classic Agatha Christie story and I find Emila Fox's patrician tones, including all the character voices, just hits the spot!

Never let this woman read again!
Not one of Agatha's best books, but it still could have been an entertaining listen. However the reading was appalling! Fox put on ludicrous voices for each character, that would have been more suited to a children's book about talking animals.
